Abstract

Our primary objective was to face a binary perspective for sexuality classification, as an epistemic problem. We first underlined the paralogisms that this type of classification engenders. Furthermore, we aimed to propose different approaches to deal with this problem. This work identified that experience brings new ways of performing to the scene; which produces bodies that are not subject to traditional categories. Therefore, we tried to comprehend the transsexual question, in what Judith Butler characterizes as “subversive corporal acts”; in the sense of imploding the identity categories on the edges of a corporal and linguistic performativity.
